No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code as it relates to judicial recusal, disqualification, and assignment and would amend the Health and Safety Code as it relates to judicial assignment in certain criminal cases. The bill would repeal certain provisions in the Government Code relating to a party's objection to a judicial assignment. The Office of Court Administration does not anticipate any significant fiscal impact to the court system resulting from the bill.

The change in law would apply only to recusal or disqualification motions filed after the bill's effective date. The bill would take effect September 1, 2013.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
