HB3439 by Otto (Relating to the representation of a property owner by an agent in a property tax matter.), As Engrossed

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

This bill would amend Sections 1.11 and 1.111 of the Tax Code, related to communications to fiduciary and representation of property owner, to specify that a property owner's agent may revoke a property owner's request that all property tax communications be sent to a fiduciary; and may revoke the property owner's designation of an agent. The designated agent revoking the designation would be required to send notice of the revocation by certified mail to the property owner at the owner's last known address.

The bill would not affect taxable property values, tax rates, collection rates, or any other variable which might affect the revenues of units of local governments or the state.  
 
The bill would take effect on September 1, 2013.
