No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require computer and television equipment manufacturers and recyclers to follow standards established under "Responsible Recycling Practices for Use in Accredited Certification Programs for Electronic Recyclers," "e-Stewards Standard for Responsible Recycling and Reuse of Electronic Equipment," or an equivalent independently audited certification standard for electronics recycling. The bill would authorize computer and television equipment manufacturers to use a recycler that has a current certification indicating that the recycler complies with one of the aforementioned standards.
 
Passage of the bill is not expected to result in significant fiscal impact to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality .
