HB3466 by Bohac (Relating to the reporting of international shipments of electronic waste.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require that any business entity that operates in Texas and ships for recycling, reuse, or disposal any sort of electronic parts or electronic equipment from this state to an ultimate destination that is located outside the United States to provide an annual report to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). The TCEQ would be required to make information received from such reports available to the pubic on the agency's website.

The bill would require the first report from recyclers be submitted to the TCEQ by January 15, 2014, covering the time period of September 1 through December 31, 2013.

Any costs to the TCEQ in implementing the provisions of the bill are not expected to be significant.
