The bill would amend the Transportation Code, the Code of Criminal Procedure, and the Family Code relating to an alcohol awareness program or drug education program for certain minors convicted of or adjudicated to have engaged in, or placed on deferred disposition or community supervision for, certain drug or alcohol related offenses. It is assumed that implementing the provisions of the bill can be absorbed within the existing resources of the agency and that any indeterminate potential revenue would be insignificant.The bill would take effect on September 1, 2013.
