IN RE:
HB3634 by McClendon (Relating to the creation of the Juvenile Court Jurisdiction Task Force.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would require the creation of the Juvenile Court Jurisdiction Task Force. The purpose of this task force is to evaluate a proposal to define a person who is 17 years of age and commits an offense as a child under the Family Code, which would place the person under the jurisdiction of a juvenile court. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
