IN RE: | HB3674 by Muñoz, Jr. (Relating to the eligibility of municipalities to participate in the historic courthouse preservation and maintenance programs administered by the Texas Historical Commission.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted |
The bill would amend the Government Code to add buildings that previously functioned as official county courthouses and municipalities as eligible entities for the Historic Courthouse Preservation Program administered by the Texas Historical Commission. It is assumed that the Historical Commission would need to update agency rules, guidelines, and grant applications; however, it is anticipated that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house. Otherwise, the bill would take September 1, 2013.
