LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 26, 2013

TO:
Honorable Ryan Guillen, Chair, House Committee on Culture, Recreation & Tourism

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3674 by Muñoz, Jr. (Relating to the eligibility of a municipality for the Historic Courthouse Preservation and Maintenance Programs.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to add municipalities as eligible entities for the Historic Courthouse Preservation Program administered by the Texas Historical Commission. It is assumed that the Historical Commission would need to update agency rules, guidelines, and grant applications; however, it is anticipated the bill would not result in a significant fiscal impact to the State and could be absorbed within existing resources.

The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house. Otherwise, the bill would take September 1, 2013.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
