FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 14, 2013

TO:
Honorable Larry Phillips, Chair, House Committee on Transportation

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3756 by Farrar (Relating to the construction of detention ponds by the Texas Department of Transportation.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to require the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to consider using a permeable surface in the construction of detention ponds associated with highway projects and to complete the detention ponds in a manner that would enable it to be used as green space.

Based on the information provided by TxDOT, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
