LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 9, 2013

TO:
Honorable Royce West, Chair, Senate Committee on Jurisprudence

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3929 by Ashby (Relating to the composition of the 12th and 369th Judicial Districts, the redesignation of the district attorney for the 12th Judicial District as the district attorney for the 369th Judicial District, and the composition of the Leon County juvenile board.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code moving Leon County from the 12th Judicial District to the 369th Judicial District. The bill would do the same for the district attorney for Leon County. The bill would not increase the total number of district courts or district attorneys, and no significant fiscal impact to the state is anticipated.

Local Government Impact

There would be some new costs for the remaining counties composing the 12th Judicial District and a savings for counties in the 369th Judicial District due to Leon County changing districts; however, fiscal impact to units of local governments is not anticipated to be significant.
