Honorable Dan Patrick, Chair, Senate Committee on Education

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB43 by Zaffirini (Relating to consideration of school district disciplinary placement information in evaluating district performance.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill requires the Commissioner of Education to include the percentage of students placed in an in-school suspension setting; suspended from school; placed in a disciplinary alternative education program; expelled from school; and placed in a juvenile justice alternative education program as indicators that are required to be reported.

This analysis assumes any costs required to implement the provisions of the bill could be implemented within existing resources.

Local Government Impact
