No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code relating to distributing or prescribing abortion-inducing drugs. The bill would authorize the Texas Medical Board to assess administrative penalties for violations under the provisions of the bill. Based on information provided by the Texas Medical Board and the Department of State Health Services, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
