FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 6, 2013

TO:
Honorable Jimmie Don Aycock, Chair, House Committee on Public Education

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB185 by Deuell (Relating to information regarding the number of public school students with dyslexia.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Texas Education Agency to collect information related to the enrollment of students identified as having dyslexia from school districts and open-enrollment charter schools through the Public Education Information Management System.

The agency estimates there would be a minimal cost associated with implementing the provisions of the bill.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
