No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to add associate judges appointed under Chapter 54a of the Government Code to the list of judges who are eligible for a license issued by the Department of Public Safety to carry a concealed handgun under special requirements applicable only to judicial officers. It is assumed any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill can be absorbed within current appropriations.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2013.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
