IN RE:	SB231 by Carona (relating to the applicability of certain concealed handgun laws to certain associate judges and other judicial personnel. ), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to add associate judges and certain other judicial personnel appointed under Chapter 54 or 54a of the Government Code to the list of persons who are eligible for a license issued by the Department of Public Safety to carry a concealed handgun under special requirements applicable only to judicial officers. It is assumed any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill can be absorbed within current appropriations.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2013. 

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
