No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend sections of the Health and Safety Code by adding a new subsection requiring both the proposed patient and their attorney be in the same location when conducting hearings via electronic means. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, judicial duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources within the judicial system.
