The bill would amend the Local Government Code to authorize a county officer or employee to perform the duties of their office without executing a bond if a county commissioners court authorizes the county to self-insure and a county judge approves the order. The bill would authorize a district attorney and a criminal district attorney to perform the duties of their office without executing a bond if a county commissioners court authorizes the county to self-insure, and would require the order to be kept and recorded by the county clerk.
