FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

February 18, 2013

TO:
Honorable Judith Zaffirini, Chair, Senate Committee on Government Organization

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB328 by Carona (Relating to the hiring of entrepreneurs-in-residence by state agencies.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code, Chapter 651 to permit state agencies to hire entrepreneurs-in-residence to improve outreach with the private sector and implement private sector best practices within state government. A sample of agencies including the Department of Information Resources, the University of Texas System and Texas A&M University System indicate that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within the agency’s existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
