No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to require a notice to the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) of challenges to the constitutionality of Texas statutes. The OAG has indicated that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.

The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house. Otherwise, the bill would take September 1, 2013.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
