LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 7, 2013

TO:
Honorable Joseph Pickett, Chair, House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB562 by Carona (Relating to the license qualifications and continuing education requirements for polygraph examiners.), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Occupations Code relating to the license qualifications and continuing education requirements for polygraph examiners.

Based on information provided by the Department of Licensing and Regulation, it is assumed that a revenue gain would be realized with the implementation of the bill; however, it is also assumed that the amount of revenue gain from the additional licensing of polygraph examiners and the number of continuing education courses approved would be minimal.  In addition, this analysis assumes that costs associated with implementing the duties and responsibilities of the bill could be covered within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
