FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

TO:
Honorable Robert Duncan, Chair, Senate Committee On State Affairs

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB633 by Ellis (Relating to liability of certain electric utilities that allow certain uses of land that the electric utility owns, occupies, or leases.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Civil Practices and Remedies Code relating to liability of certain electric utilities that allow certain uses of land that the electric utility owns, occupies, or leases. No significant fiscal impact to the state’s court system is anticipated.

The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a two-thirds vote in each house. Otherwise the bill would take effect September 1, 2013.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
