LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 2, 2013

TO:
Honorable Wayne Smith, Chair, House Committee on Licensing & Administrative Procedures

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB673 by Carona (Relating to the requirements for elevators, escalators, and related equipment; providing penalties.), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code relating to requirements for elevators, escalators, and related equipment.

Based on the information provided by the Comptroller of Public Accounts, Department of Licensing and Regulation, and Office of the Attorney General, it is assumed that changes in administrative penalties under the provisions of the bill would not result in a significant revenue impact.  In addition, this analysis assumes that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be covered within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
