IN RE:
SB684 by Deuell (Relating to a physical assessment of students by a public school.), As Engrossed
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would remove the requirement that a school district annually assess the physical fitness of students enrolled in grades 3 and higher, instead requiring physical fitness assessments in grades 3; 5; once in grades 6 through 8; and once in grades 9 through 12.
Local Government Impact
School districts that discontinued some annual physical fitness assessments for students might experience a reduction in administrative costs. Savings would vary widely depending on the number of physical fitness assessments conducted.
