SB686 by Huffman (Relating to the change of the name of the Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education to the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would change the name of the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education to the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement by amending the following codes: Occupation Code, Code of Criminal Procedure, Education Code, Government Code, Health and Safety Code, Human Resources Code, Labor Code, Local Government Code, Transportation Code, Parks and Wildlife Code, and Penal Code. It is assumed the costs associated with implementing this change of name could be absorbed within current appropriations. The bill would take effect immediately upon a two-thirds vote of all members of both chambers; otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2013.
