No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Human Resources Code as it relates to training for certain employees of the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS).

The bill would apply only to a person who is newly hired or promoted to a management position in the child protective services division of DFPS on or after the effective date of this Act. DFPS may waive the training required by the bill for an employee who has completed another training program provided by the department that is similar to the management training required by the bill.

It is assumed that the provisions of the bill could be handled with existing resources.

The bill would take effect January 1, 2014.
