IN RE: | SB832 by Davis (Relating to training for school district and open-enrollment charter school liaisons who assist students in the conservatorship of the state with school enrollments and transfers.), As Engrossed |
The bill would require open-enrollment charter schools, in addition to school districts, to appoint an employee as a liaison to facilitate enrollment and transfers for students in the conservatorship of the state. School districts and open-enrollment charter schools would be required to report the liaison's contact information to the Texas Education Agency (TEA) in a format and schedule as determined by the commissioner of education.
The bill would require the TEA to provide information to liaisons on facilitating the enrollment and transfers of students in the conservatorship of the state.
Based on the analysis of TEA, the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
