LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 18, 2013

TO:
Honorable Dan Patrick, Chair, Senate Committee On Education

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB832 by Davis (Relating to training for school district liaisons who assist students in the conservatorship of the state with school enrollments and transfers.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to maintain a list of all school district liaisons assisting students in the conservatorship of the state with enrollments and transfers and to provide training and information on best practices.

Based on the analysis of TEA, the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

Local Government Impact

School districts would be required to maintain the contact information of the liaison assisting foster children with enrollments and transfers with the TEA. District liaisons would receive training and information about best practices to assist foster children enrolling and transferring from one district to another.
