LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 11, 2013

TO:
Honorable John Carona, Chair, Senate Committee On Business & Commerce

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB845 by Carona (Relating to the use of e-mail and website technology by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Occupations Code relating to the use of e-mail and website technology by the Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).

Based on information provided by TDLR, it is assumed that the agency would realize a cost savings from a reduction of postcards sent out to TDLR's licensee population each year; however, it is also assumed that the amount of cost savings would not have an impact on revenues to the State.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
