SB886 by Uresti (Relating to extended foster care for certain young adults and the extended jurisdiction of a court in a suit affecting the parent-child relationship involving those young adults.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Family Code provisions relating to extended foster care and trial independence periods for young adults between the ages of 18 and 21 formerly in foster care. The bill specifies the jurisdiction of a court in cases involving such young adults.

The Department of Family and Protective Services reports that the bill will not have a fiscal impact on the agency. The Office of Court Administration does not anticipate any significant fiscal impact to the court system resulting from the bill. The bill would take effect September 1, 2013. 


Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
