FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 20, 2013

TO:
Honorable Tommy Williams, Chair, Senate Committee On Finance

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB908 by Schwertner (Relating to a study regarding the fiscal effect of tax-exempt state property on school districts.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Texas Education Agency, the Texas Facilities Commission, and the Comptroller of Public Accounts to jointly conduct a study of the fiscal effect of tax-exempt state property on school districts in the state. This analysis assumes that any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
