The bill would amend the Local Government Code to allow the Attorney General to obtain an injunction against a municipality or county that adopts prohibitive regulations regarding firearms, firearm supplies, ammunition, or explosives. It is assumed that any additional costs related to the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house. Otherwise, the bill would take September 1, 2013.
