No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Chapter 411 of the Government Code, regarding the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), relating to criminal history record information obtained or disseminated by a private entity. It is assumed that implementing the provisions of the bill can be absorbed within the existing resources of the agency and that any indeterminate potential revenue would be insignificant. The bill would take effect on September 1, 2013.
