No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Insurance Code relating to unfair settlement practices with respect to workers' compensation insurance claims.  The bill would include claims by an insured individual or a beneficiary under an insurance policy for workers' compensation insurance, as claims subject to Chapter 541.060, Unfair Settlement Practices of the Insurance Code. 

Based on information provided by the Texas Department of Insurance, the Office of Injured Employee Counsel, and the State Office of Risk Management, it is assumed that any costs associated with the implementation of this bill would be absorbed within existing staff and resources.

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
