No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Occupations Code relating to the regulation of the practice of nursing.  The bill would require the Board of Nursing to obtain criminal history record information for any person accepted or enrolled in a nursing educational program that prepares the person for initial licensure as a registered or vocational nurse. 

Based on information provided by the Board of Nursing and the Texas Department of Public Safety, it is assumed that all duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
