The bill would amend the Occupations Code relating to the regulation of medical radiologic technology.
The Texas Medical Board (TMB) would be required to establish qualifications, an examination, education and training requirements, application procedures, and continuing education requirements for registered radiologist assistants. TMB would be required to establish complaint and investigation procedures, license registration and renewal requirements (including application fees), disciplinary procedures, and administrative penalties for violations of this chapter.
Based on information provided by the Texas Medical Board, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
