No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would clarify that private gifts for undergraduate research received by an emerging research institution is eligible to receive a state match under the Texas Research Incentive Program. Based on information provided by the Higher Education Coordinating Board, undergraduate research gifts are currently allowed to be matched under the program therefore the bill would not have a fiscal impact.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
