No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Occupations Code relating to the temporary licensing of a dentist who performs voluntary charity care. The bill would require the Board of Dental Examiners to issue temporary licenses for charitable purpose to dentists who are in good standing in the state or were in another state not more than two years before applying for a voluntary charity care temporary license. The board is required to adopt rules necessary to implement bill requirements not later than January 1, 2014.
Based on information provided by the Board of Dental Examiners and the Comptroller of Public Accounts, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
