No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Section 54 of the Family Code. The bill would require testing of a juvenile for a sexually transmitted disease or human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) against whom a petition is filed that includes allegations of certain sexually related offenses. The Texas Juvenile Justice Department has determined that the bill would not result in a significant fiscal impact to the State. The bill would take effect on September 1, 2013.
