IN RE:
SB1191 by Davis (Relating to the duties of health care facilities, health care providers, and the Department of State Health Services with respect to care provided to a sexual assault survivor in an emergency department of a health care facility.), As Engrossed
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Chapter 323 of the Health and Safety Code, related to the duties of health care facilities, health care providers, and the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) with respect to care provided to a sexual assault survivor in an emergency department of a health care facility. The bill would require that, at the agency's request, a health care facility impacted by the bill submit their plan for providing services described in the bill's provisions to DSHS for approval. DSHS would be required to post on its website a list of all hopsitals that are designated in a community-wide plan as the primary health care facility in the community for treating sexual assault survivors. The agency indicates that it would absorb any costs associated with implementing the bill.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
