FROM: | Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board |
IN RE: | SB1195 by Ellis (Relating to a contract for the acquisition of goods or services to which The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is a party.), As Engrossed |
The bill would amend Education Code to state that any contract for the acquistion of goods or services to which The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center is a party, a provision required by applicable law to be included in the contract is considered to be a part of the executed contract without regard to: (1) whether the provision appears on the face of the contract; or (2) whether the contract includes any provision to the contrary. It is expected that the implementation of the bill's provisions would have no fiscal impact to the State.
The legislation would take effect September 1, 2013, or immediately with a vote of two-thirds of all members in each house of the Legislature.
