No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Insurance Code relating to the creation of a standard request form for prior authorization of medical care or health care services.  The bill would establish requirements relating to the use of a standard request form for preauthorization of health care services.

Based on information provided by the Texas Department of Insurance, UT System Administration, Texas A&M University System Administration, Employees Retirement System, and the Teacher Retirement System, it is assumed that any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished utilizing existing staff and resources.
