SB1219 by Davis (Relating to a customer's right to privacy of smart meter collected data.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Utilities Code to only allow an entity other than a retail electric provider or an electric utility to have access to meter data if the entity has written consent from a customer under rules established by the Public Utility Commission (PUC).

Based on information provided by the PUC, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished utilizing existing resources.
