No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Agriculture Code to allow the Texas Animal Health Commission to establish a state animal identification program. The Animal Health Commission indicates the agency can implement the provisions of the bill within existing resources. No significant fiscal impact to the state is anticipated.

The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a two-thirds vote in each house; otherwise the bill would take effect September 1, 2013.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
