No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure and the Government Code as they relate to the Texas Forensic Science Commission. The bill would provide guidelines regarding investigations and subsequent recommendations by the Commission. The bill would also establish reporting requirements. The bill would administratively attach the Commission to Sam Houston State University. Texas State University System would also provide administrative support to the Commission as necessary. Any costs associated with the bill would be implemented within existing resources.

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
