SB1317 by Whitmire (Relating to persons authorized to perform a marriage ceremony.), As Passed 2nd House

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Family Code to authorize certain retired judges or magistrates to perform marriage ceremonies. The bill also extends the dates of validity for marriage licenses. It is not anticipated that the bill would result in any significant fiscal impact to the court system. The bill would take effect September 1, 2013.  

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
