SB1351 by Carona (Relating to demand-side electric energy resources in the competitive electric market.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Utilities Code to require the Public Utility Commission (PUC) and the independent organization for each power region to allow load participation in all energy markets for residential, commercial, and industrial customer classes. The bill would require the program for load participation to be designed and implemented in a manner to increase market efficiency, competition, and customer benefits.

Based on information provided by the PUC, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
