LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 25, 2013

TO:
Honorable John Carona, Chair, Senate Committee on Business & Commerce

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB1388 by Carona (Relating to identity recovery service contracts.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Finance Code and Government Code relating to identity recovery service contracts.

Based on information provided by Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), Office of the Attorney General, and the Comptroller of Public Accounts, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

This analysis also assumes that a revenue loss would be realized with the implementation of the bill based on information provided by TDLR; however, it is also assumed that the amount of revenue loss each fiscal year would be insignificant.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
