LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 22, 2013

TO:
Honorable Craig Estes, Chair, Senate Committee on Agriculture, Rural Affairs & Homeland Security

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB1394 by Estes (Relating to the statewide critical infrastructure protection strategy.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Homeland Security Chapter of the Government Code by eliminating the requirement that the Homeland Security Council and each permanent special advisory committee, in the chapter, advise the governor on the development and coordination of a statewide critical infrastructure protection strategy. The bill also deletes Homeland Security Council requirement to report to the governor on the development and coordination of a statewide critical infrastructure protection strategy.

It is assumed that there will be no significant cost impact to the bill, because changes could be absorbed within existing agency resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
