The bill would amend the Government Code to allow the Texas Commission on Fire Protection, State Firemen's and Fire Marshals' Association of Texas, National Fire Protection Association, public community/junior colleges, regional fire academies, and any other state agency with authority over fire safety inspections, to provide training related to fire safety inspections. It is assumed the costs of implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within current resources. The bill would take effect immediately upon a two-thirds vote of all members in each chamber; otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2013.
