SB1586 by Rodríguez (Relating to the definition of distributed renewable generation for certain generation systems installed on publicly owned land.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Utilities Code to create and define a category of distributed renewable generation installed in a building or on land owned by the United States, the state of Texas, or a political subdivision of the state, with a capacity of not more than ten megawatts.

Based on information provided by the Public Utility Commission and the General Land Office, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished utilizing existing resources.
